"Don't Just Survive, Thrive in Your Career"
John Hadley
Do you feel like you have no control over your career? Are your salary increases pretty much the same as everyone else, no matter how well you do your job? Do few people at your company recognize your contributions? If your department reorganized tomorrow, would you be at risk?
Imagine what it would be like to feel confident that even if your employer were silly enough to let you go, you had the strategies and skills to land an even better job.

"Bedroom Justice: Forensic Sexuality Careers for the Sex-Positive Professional"
Thomas Graves, MS, M.Ed., LPC
Research and treatment with ‘sex offenders’ carries many rewards and challenges. We will discuss these in the context of the various settings and opportunities available in the field. Special attention will be given to bringing topics of pleasure and positive sexuality into forensic settings. We will also look at qualifications and personal attributes that can maximize success and minimize burnout. |
"From PowerPoint to Porno: Taking on an Alternative Career in Sexuality, Post Graduate Studies"
Jessica D. Ackerman, M.Ed.
This workshop will look at how a degree in Human Sexuality can apply to alternative careers in the field – specifically how it has translated to working within the adult entertainment industry. As well, it will touch on creating sex-positive communities outside of academic and clinical settings. |
"Presenting at Professional Conferences: The Ins and Outs"
Michael McGee, M.Ed., C.S.E.
Yes, you CAN present at AASECT, SSSS, APHA, etc., etc.! Learn techniques for being an effective professional who contributes to the field with engaging presentations. This session will provide you with the steps for proposing a session at a professional conference, offer advice on how best to deliver it, and give you ideas for converting your knowledge into a profile-raising presence at national meetings. |
"Working with Corporations to Support Trans-people in the Workplace"
Michele Angello, Ph.D.
A common assumption among employers is that when an employee transitions, the entire workplace will be disrupted. This training will cover ways in which you can put employers at ease regarding the transitioning employee, have an opportunity to educate hundreds of people about gender identity (and how it differs from sexual orientation), and get paid to do it! I have witnessed people shit into a less rigid way of thinking after this brief opportunity to talk with them in both large and small companies.

"From Sexual Histories to Work Histories: Improve Your Interview Skills to Obtain the Job of Your Dreams"
Eric Garrison, MAEd, MSc, DLSHTM, CSC, ACS
Because of the nature of our education, our training, and the public’s opinion about the sexological fields, our interviews for positions vary from the standard dialogues that other job seekers have. This dynamic and interactive workshop will help hone your interview skills and prepare you for years to come. |
